If you are unable to come to our office in Charlottesville, we offer secure online therapy (Teletherapy) as an alternative to standard in-office therapy. This is a convenient option for those clients who live far from Charlottesville or Staunton, who travel for work, or who have a disability or condition (such as agoraphobia) that makes it difficult for them to leave their home. We use Secure Video, which provides a Zoom-based, hi-definition, HIPPA-compliant (secure and encrypted), easy-to-use video connection that can be accessed from your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. We can even see you and another person, such as your spouse, simultaneously from different locations. Our clients that have been to our office and also seen us online frequently comment that there is no difference between doing it over the web and doing it in person.
We frequently work with people via secure webcam from all over the state of Virginia, including Arlington, Abingdon, Culpeper, Fredericksburg, Harrisonburg, Farmville, Lexington, Lynchburg, and Roanoke. To find out if you insurance covers Teletherapy, contact your insurer and ask them if they cover “Place of Service Code 02” along with “CPT Code 90837.”
For more information about the cost of teletherapy, see our Fees and Insurance page.
