I earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Michigan with the hopes of helping individuals and families reach their full potential. I have special training in substance use, barriers to employment, ADHD, attachment, trauma, anxiety and depression. My interest is in working with children, adolescents, college students, and young adults.
I have previously worked in the Detroit Juvenile Court system which has given me trauma-informed care experience. I have learned to implement appropriate coping mechanisms into therapy using a collaborative family-centered perspective. My approach is person-centered and strength-based therapy where I put an emphasis on meeting the client where they currently are.
I help my clients to understand how their thoughts, environment, and behavior contribute to their emotions, and how they can use this knowledge to live a more fulfilling, meaningful, and content life. I believe in allowing the client to lead their change process – so we can go as fast or as slow as you would like.
I spend my spare time reading books on self-development, listening to motivational speakers such as Les Brown, Eric Thomas, and Jim Rohn, and being in the company of family and friends. I also enjoy traveling to new destinations and connecting with new people.
Because I am not yet licensed, and I am under the supervision of Joanna Magee, LCSW, my services cannot be covered under your insurance. Therefore, I charge a reduced fee of $60 per session.
